This 1957 DeHavilland Beaver was last flown in the early 1980s. The previous owner was restoring it in a warehouse in Vancouver BC. Arcus Aero purchased it as part of an estate sale and brought this low time DHC-2 back to the United States.
In addition to working through the service bulletins and airworthiness directives issued since the 1980s, the team at Arcus Aero has been modifying the airframe with STCs that provide functionality and improved safety. These include the Sealand cabin extension and Alaska door, the Wipaire gross weight increase, and the alternator conversion.
Every interior surface has been taken down to bare metal, prepped as appropriate, and epoxy primed. The cockpit and cabin area have also been painted with a JetGlo topcoat. All new wiring has been routed and the panel includes all new circuit breakers, voltage regulators, and switches.
